Our Village Comprehensive Plan, created in 1993, has good bones, but a lot has changed in Rhinebeck. Today, our task is to update our comp plan for our current needs and our vision for the future.

Typically, comprehensive plans should be updated at least every 10 years or more frequently, according to a community’s particular needs. The Village Board has voted to create a Comprehensive Plan Committee (CPC) with Trustee Lydia Slaby acting as liaison to the committee as supported by our professional land use planners.

The Comprehensive Plan Committee has finalized its first public draft plan for public consumption and comment. That draft is available for viewing and download here. The Committee will be taking comments via email until May 19, 2024. It will also be holding its public hearing on Sunday, May 5, 2024 from 3-5:30 pm, continued to Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 7-9:30 pm at Village Hall. Please come and share your thoughts! Once the Committee has heard from the public, it may make changes to the draft plan and then will present the draft plan to the Village Board. The Village Board will then schedule its own public hearing to hear from you again. Please subscribe to the village mailing list to be kept updated.
