within Dutchess County and is comprised of two governmental
jurisdictions, The Village of Rhinebeck and The Town of Rhinebeck.
Residents of the village are citizens of both the town and village. Town
residents who live outside the village are citizens only of the town.

The Mayor is the chief executive officer of the Village and presides at the meetings of the Board of Trustees. The Mayor appoints all department heads and non-elected officers and employees and the approval of Trustees is required. The Mayor may appoint the deputy Mayor and any vacancy in an elected or appointed office.
